this film featured novelty numbers by Cugat (Valdez was billed as a "Band Singer" and Romay is credited as a "Singer").

and he would lend his talents to

in 1943. Cugat had
official retired in 1971, seven years before signing this photograph
, after suffering a stroke. Orchestra leader
Cugat
(1900-1990) is
best known as "The Rumba King" for introducing U. S. audiences to Latin rhythms.
Born Francisco de Asis Javier Cugat Mingall de Bel y Deulogeo in Spain, Cugat grew up in Havana, and the teenaged violin prodigy toured with Enrico Caruso before coming to the U. S. Cugat worked as a cartoonist for the
Los Angeles Times
while organizing his first bands, and
by 1928, he and his band were playing at the Cocoanut Grove in Hollywood.
Cugat appeared in a number of feature films, usually as himself.
His wives included
singer Abbe Lane
(1952 until their divorce in 1963) and entertainer
Charo
(1966 until their divorce in 1978). Minor surface creases (most not evident head on). Lightly soiled at lower right blank corner, pinhead-size stain at upper blank margin. File nicks at lower blank edge. Pencil notes (unknown hand) on verso (light impressions, not evident head on, at upper background).

Return Policy:
If any substantial defect not described in the item listing is found by the purchaser, the item(s) must be returned within 3 days of receipt. Item(s) may not be returned except for reasons of authenticity or substantial defect in description. Buyers will be sent payment instructions following their purchase.
We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express & PayPal. PayPal customers must have a confirmed address on file with PayPal. Customers must provide a daytime telephone number to be used in case of any shipping difficulties.

Shipping
- We ship via FedEx and USPS. Shipping charges are calculated at time of payment and are dependent on the number of items purchased and the destination shipping address.
Due to the value of most purchases, a signature is required for delivery. This policy limits our ability to ship to PO Boxes.
All international shipments (destinations outside the U.S) will be sent via FedEx. Please feel free to contact us in advance for shipping charges - international customers are encouraged to do so.
