WESTERN ELECTRIC GREEN BAKELITE TELEPHONE PRE-WAR (WWII)

Description

Rare color pre-WWII Western Electric bakelite telephone.
It was factory‑painted (
not a repaint
) moss green over black.
The "Western Electric" manufacturer mark is on the underside of the receiver.
CONDITION:
In great vintage used condition considering its age.
No dents or major issues.
There are some small chips around the bottom of the base where you can see the black underneath, however, these are not readily visible unless you are looking at close inspection and really do not take away from the overall aesthetics of the phone (use your zoom over the pictures to view).
Otherwise, the overall surface of the phone is good.
The cord from the handset to the phone is intact.
The other cord from the back of the phone has been cut.
I have not taken the telephone apart, but everything seems to be tight and intact.
If it were properly rewired, I’m sure it would work.
There is brown felt on the bottom of the phone that is mostly intact.
WOULD BE A GREAT ADDITION TO A PHONE COLLECTION!
