The solid 925 silver cap and whole pen body are decorated with Guilloche' engraving - vintage fine Chessboard. Guilloche? is a traditional way of engraving using the diamond cutting tools. It?s a dying? art as only few artisans are able to maintain these machines and perform beautiful vintage engravings. Grifos Pen Company has a Guilloché cutting machine in-house, thus allowing our experienced silversmiths to engrave on site, whereas few pen companies do Guilloché engraving within their own facility. Our hand machine is a truly old Parker Company one dated 1930 we still use and keep on duty.
The nib is made in Germany. It is made of 18 ct gold plated steel with a Medium size point (other nib sizes available: Extra Fine, Fine, Broad and BB). The nib made in Germany is a guarantee of the best available quality. On your request we can upgrade this fountain pen with solid 18 ct gold nibs both in yellow and white gold.
