Up for auction is a H. Disston & Son Eagle Medallion Split Nut 110 Inch Backsaw or Dovetail Saw. Made from 1865-71 when his eldest son joined the company from the Union Army in the civil war . It’s very rare to see the eagle medallion on the single Son saw it’s usually a keystone logo. Condition is as found never cleaned or restored . It’s also marked on the spine . Has some chipping around one saw but and small chippping on the bottom horn . Handle is still solid . No chipped or missing teeth 14 ppi filed xcut . Not bad for 150 years old or older . Original patina throughout on handle, brass and steel . Will leave cleaning to the new owner of this rare saw .
