A Rare ! Grateful Dead Show in Philly on Spring Tour '84 & not-at ' The Spectrum ' ... instead, at the " Philadelphia Civic Center !! " -- G.D. Blooming Red Roses !!!!!
Dead Fans ... and very-likely Philly ! & Mid-Atlantic Heads !!  Whoa !?!  The '84 Spring Tour run stop at The Spect ..... Nope ! -- but instead, at the Philadelphia Civic Center !!  This is the Vintage Original ( Genuine / Authentic ) G.D. Backstage Pass ( sticker-patch / satin ) for the April 21, 1984 ( 4/12/84 ) Show at the Philadelphia Civic Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania !!!  The Grateful Dead are in Town in Philly ! ... and are not ?!? playing The Spectrum !?  You bet ... and, this was the Very-1st time that a G.D. Show went off at the Civic ! ... Since 1974 !!  As the Band had played the Civic only one-time, on the '74 Summer Tour Back East swing !  And, as for the storied ( & beyond ! ) History between the Grateful Dead & The Spectrum ... well, that goes back to 1968 ! -- and, this Good Ol' Grateful Dead is represented Perfectly ! on Dick's Picks #36 ... the Final Dick's Picks release !  And, from 1968 through 1995 ... the Band played over 50-Shows at The Spectrum !  Now That ! is Rock & Roll ... and, quite the music business partnership too !  50 + !!!  Pretty sweet, indeed ...  Well, but this here Pass ? - this isn't '74 that we are talking about on this '84 Spring Tour Stop ... as we are talking Garcia - Weir - B.K. - Phil - Mick ... & Brent !!  And seriously ... this whole-entire-run -- all Three ( 3 ) Shows 4/19/84 - 4/20/84 - & 4/21/84 ... were Red-Hot !!!!!  In fact, I've gotten into more conversations than I can even remember ! over the years & years, and years ! where multiple-folks have mentioned that this Philly Civic run really was " The " run of the 1984 Spring Tour !  And as for some other Folks ?  Well, as sometimes the talk of town has been that pound for pound ... this run was " The-Best " of 1984 !  Wow, and Man ... I don't know.  For years ... I always thought the 4/17/84 Niagara Falls Show was blistering ... and specifically -- ( I already hope you know what I'm gonna say here ) -- >>> The Help > Slip ! > Franklin's !!!!!  Wow ...  But, in all honesty - it took me a while ( for certain ), but there are parts, segments, rifts, time-changes that truly put this Philly Civic 4/21/84 version right ! up-there on that G.D. " Top-Shelf ".  I suppose it's 6 to 1, and a 1/2 dozen to another ... you know ?  But ... where in Niagara Falls, the Franklin's leads into Women Are Smarter ( then Eyes ) ... whereas the one in Philly on 4/21 -- Whammo ! ... Help > Slipknot ! > Franklin's > ..... Playin' !!! > China Doll !!  So, you know - strength in numbers, in the greater whole ... and in the Grate-er Good !!  They are flat-out Fiery !  And this energy really goes all the way through this 3-Show run, with of course 4/21 being the last of the three.  I think I need to use that Good Ol' terminology here - that I have always ! loved ... " Eighties Greaties are Good ! for the Nak !!! ".  They Hammer ! this run ... com-pletely.  And then, immediately following - it was 2 in New Haven - 2 in Providence - 2 at Nassau ... and then, back Out West ! - for a date with Silva Hall ! ... in Eugene !!!  And trust me, She's Really ! Pretty !!  Ha !!!  Well, some G.D. Backstage Passes are ' Extra-Special ' for all kinds of different & cool ! reasons ... and this Pass is most-Definitely ! one of them.  Blooming Roses !!!  " In & Out Of The Civic We Go !?! ".  Well, not quite-That ! ... as you can't always have Everything ! in Life.  What a Classic !!! G.D. stand.  4/21/1984 !! ... at the Philadelphia Civic Center !!! ... Enjoy !!!!!
