Summer Tour '83 Grateful Dead Backstage Passes for the Merriweather Post Pavilion ( MPP ! ) Tour Stop ... on June 20 & 21, 1983 ( 6/20/83 & 6/21/83 ) !!!
Dead Fans !! - who know your Good Ol' '80's ! Grateful Dead Shows very-well ! ... and of course, quite possibly too - those from the Grate ! State of Maryland !!! 6/20/83 !!!!! & 6/21/1983 !!!!! As offered here very proudly is a ' Complete ! ' 2-Pass Set of Vintage-Original ( Genuine / Authentic ) Grateful Dead Backstage Passes ( sticker-patches / satins ) for the June 20, 1983 ( 6/20/1983 ) & June 21, 1983 ( 6/21/1983 ) Shows at the Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Maryland !!! As I use to always like to say ... " The MPP in the MD " !! What a Rock n' Roll Rich ! Venue that the Good Ol' ( '83 New ! ) Grateful Dead almost Completely-Dismantled ! on the '83 Summer Tour - and with that ... ( as Bill Walton once said ! ) -- " The Flesh-Eating Low-End of the John L. Meyer Sound !!! ". Yeah !! So-Incredibly-Awesome ! Seriously my fellow Fans, as it's no joke - as this is just how-hard the Band Delivered ! at Merriweather in '83 !! I mean after all, this is a place that even Hendrix left his mark on - way back in '68 ! ... So, 15-Years later - and Wham !!! The " Good Ol' Grateful Dead " ! -- like these Passes even Say ! on the designs themselves. In fact, this '83 Tour Stop at the Merriweather Post was so Incredibly-Hot ! -- and... not just from a ' Musically ' Hot ! standpoint either -- but, from a Metaphorically one too ( with ' Mother Nature ' intervening ! ) - and That ! is no-joke !! As right ' during ' the Smokin'-Hot ! 6/20/83 Show, a Huge Bolt ! of Lightning !!! actually struck the Pavilion itself !?! ... and the sound even went out ! In fact, it even happened a few different times during the 2nd Set - and all the Band did every single time it happened ... was get charged-up !!! To some, and very-arguably ! ... this run in Maryland was indeed the Very-Best ! stop for the Band, on this Entire ! '83 Summer Tour. In fact, some feel that 6/20/83 was actually the Best Show overall in '83 ... Period ! And, without any question - it was definitely one of the most-exciting, with even Mother Nature coming to do her Dancin' ! too !!! Right on the Roof of the MPP - Pavilion-Top !!!!! Awesome ... since of course, nobody was hurt so-amazingly !?! And, as for these G.D. Pass design itself ... Yeah !!!!! Can't beat it, or - at least that's what I say ... " Good Ol' Grateful Dead " - just like we like it ... Summer Tour 1983 - on the top, and June 20 & June 21 - Merriweather Post Pavillion ( sp. ! ) - Columbia, Maryland - Red, White & Blue Everywhere ! Red Stars around the Ring ! ... Awesome. And also, these Passes even have the ' Authentic ' GDP ( Grateful Dead Productions ) Tour-Marking ! on the Passes ... the Black-marker # 2 !! & # 3 !!! The prehistoric, yet still so Beautiful ! method of Tour-Credentials ' Authentication ' - from way-back in the Early '80's ! ... with a Good Ol' Black Marker !! Gotta Love the Old-School !!! Remember those ' felt-tips ' with the ribbed plastic caps !? ... so-awesome. And ... of course ! -- it is also very-important for me to note too - that this was the Very 1st Time ! the Grateful Dead Ever ! played the sacred Rock & Roll Amphitheatre grounds of the M.P.P. !!! In fact, it only ever happened in '83, '84, & '85 - from which point, it was all Cap Centre and/or RFK from there on out ! Fun stuff too ( way ! ), with some Seriously ! Red-Hot-D.C.-Metro-Shows !! - but, certainly no Merriweather Post type place - at least Venue-wise. And as you can possibly already tell ? Yes, indeed ... as this is My Ol' Childhood stompin'-ground ! I've seen myself a little MPP in my time, with I believe Bob & Rob in '92 actually being the very-last ?!! I remember Girls totally coating the front 8 or 10 rows - screaming so-hard ! for Bobby !!!!! Well done Weir !!! Yeah ... M.P.P. in full-effect - in Maryland !!!!! Enjoy this Serious ! piece of Maryland ! - Merriweather Post !! - Grateful Dead !!! - and Rock & Roll History !!!! '83 Summer Tour !!!!! ... Enjoy !!!!!!!
