Description
I am pleased to offer a lovely vintage 1960s cup and saucer set in the LOVE STORY pattern
Made by an unknown Japanese manufacturer in white hard paste porcelain decorated in rich and elegant emerald and maroon panels and featuring a Fragonard romantic design of a courting couple
Modelled in the Sevres Empire style with full circle curlicue handle and intended to copy the LOVE STORY pieces produced by Limoges and various German Bavarian factories in the 1960s
Extensive gilding - the interior, the entire cup handle and the base are all completely covered in bright shiny gold
Likely a cabinet or decorative set
No damage noted - no chips, cracks, hairlines, other damage or restoration
Slight rub wear to the gold filigree and to the very top of the cup handle
Cup measures 3 1/4" tall at sides and 3 1/2" to top of handle and 4 1/8" across; saucer 5 3/4" across
