Description
The details of this Firefighter pen pay homage to the dedication, sacrifice and bravery these heros display:• Pen Clip: Represents a Firefighter's ladder. At the top of the clip is a variation of the iconic Firefighter's Maltese Cross widely used across fire departments as a symbol of protection and a badge of honor.
• Pen End: Depicts a silhouette of a Firefighter in uniform at work - braced on the ground in the act of holding the hose. In addition, the words "Honor" "Bravery" "Duty" and "Dedication" are displayed behind the silhouette to further recognize a firefighter's heroism.
• Pen Top: Features a classic and recognizable Firefighter's helmet form.
• Pen Tip: Shaped from Firefighter's hose-nozzles throughout history, touching on past and present forms.
• "Push and Lock" Pen Mechanism: Emulates an American fire hose adapter that connects fire hoses to water sources including a firefighter's truck. Using a simple female and male exterior coupling, this 2-part threaded connection system has no interior moving parts and is extremely reliable and durable. To extend the refill, simply push the back-end of the pen downward and rotate to lock the upper adapter clips into place. The tip hose-nozzle extends simultaneously with the pen refill as a reference to the water rushing out of the hose.
One of the most stunning—and affordable—exotic woods is African padauk. A vibrant orange to deep red color, the wood is most often used in highly decorative projects like turnings, jewelry boxes, and musical instruments. But it's also an excellent furniture wood that shapes, cuts and routs with ease. The tree is so substantial that it yields impressively sized boards that are clear and defect free. It has a unique cross grain quality that is just beautiful.
As a world renowned artisan, I was able to form this fine writing instrument through a painstaking process that involved several hours and stages in order to present a finely polished work of art. I used a special Firestorm acrylester blank that was measured and drilled before inserting a brass tube. It was then trued on each end before being placed on my Delta midi-lathe for the shaping using various chisels. When the desired shape was achieved I then took it through a multi-stage sanding process finishing with nine steps of micro-mesh, followed by a three step polishing resulting in a glass like finish.
This fine writing instrument is destined to provide years of pleasure for the discriminating user. Its unique, one-of-a-kind design will speak volumes to your individuality, knowing that you are carrying the pride of handmade craftsmanship that is often lacking in a world of duplicity.
