    Description

Offered is this vintage "Playbill" program from the first Broadway run of Noel Coward's play "Blithe Spirit", at the Morosco Theatre during the week of April 13, 1942. The show ran for a total of 657 performances, first at the Morosco, from Nov. 5, 1941 through May 16, 1942, then moving to the Booth Theatre until June 5, 1943. The play starred Clifton Webb and Mildred Natwick among others. There is a "play and the players" section as well as several other articles on fashion and the theater. The program is filled with great local and national ads for products like cosmetics, clothing, cigarettes, whiskey and more, as well as a few for well-known stores, restaurants and nightclubs. This may be a rare find; at the time of original listing I could not find another program from the play's first Broadway run for sale on eBay.
Unfortunately, the program has gotten wet at some point in the past, so parts of the pages are wrinkled and some have wear, discoloration, etc., but all of the text is readable except for a few words here and there. I see no torn pages and all are well-attached to the cover. There is a crease down the middle where it has been folded.
